RESEARCH
AND EVALUATION
Getting
the lay of the land before setting up a program, and evaluating
it after it has been created. Building and implementing monitoring
and evaluation procedures. Analyzing the environment and marketing
potential before spending precious resources on a project. Paying
continuous attention to how to improve a project once implemented.
EXAMPLES:
For the Harvard
Center for International Development and the World
Economic Forum, researched and wrote chapter on technology for
the Latin American Competitiveness Report published by Oxford University
Press.
Created evaluation process for Techfoundation's
Geeks for America program
Researched volunteer and technology programs for Geekcorps
as well as the needs of local businesses and organizations on the
ground in developing countries. Established extensive evaluation
procedures that surveyed volunteers and partners via written forms
and interviews to measure their satisfaction with the program. Revised
program based on results of evaluations.
